"VERDUN - YMCA Poster"
"VERDUN - YMCA Poster"
"VERDUN" reads this propaganda poster from the YMCA that was created during World War 1. The subheading reads "Road to YMCA canteen". This image was actually sketched on location by a YMCA secretary. Posters like this were widely distributed during the great war. The artwork depicts a solider on horseback and a motorcycle with side car entering/exiting a canteen beneath an arch way, the street lined with debris. The original artwork was done by artist A.K.S. The poster was originally published in 1917. A great gift for any war history aficionado! I digitally restore the raw scans of these 100+ year old posters and make them much more suitable for printing, but I do my best to keep them as close to original as possible. The original posters were approximately 20" x 30" NOTE: This listing is just for the poster reprint and is not framed. It will come rolled in a shipping tube.
